The Works can help you...
During this summer The Works will be running courses to support people interested in getting into the construction industry. The course will include input from local construction companies and a site visit onto an exciting local construction project. The tutors on the course will also support with construction job applications, CV writing and general employability support focused towards the construction industry.
Courses are running in Moss Side & West Gorton. The courses will run 3 days per week over a 4 week period and will include candidates gaining an employability qualification and the CSCS card will be fully funded by The Works.
The Works marked the landmark of supporting our 1000th local person into work with a visit from the President & Vice-Chancellor of The University of Manchester, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell.

20 unemployed local residents have been successful in finding employment as Building Attendants at the University of Manchester thanks to the help they received at The Works in Moss Side. The Works is a one-stop-shop supporting local people in south Manchester to find jobs, develop their skills, access training courses and financial advice and services.
